L’exposició se centra en Can Coriol, la propietat dels pares del pintor Oriol Enguany, situada a prop de Constantí. Aquest espai, que inicialment era una casa d’esbarjo de cap de setmana, s’ha convertit amb el temps en la residència principal dels seus pares. La selecció de fotografies posa l’accent en l’autoconstrucció de la casa, assumida pel pare d’Oriol, antic paleta, transportista i mecànic. En aquestes imatges destaquen els detalls de petites reparacions fetes amb materials a l’abast, resoltes amb enginy i habilitat.

L’estètica de Can Coriol, que Oriol descriu com a punk, reflecteix l’actitud lliure i mancada de pretensió artística del seu pare. Les imatges de l’exposició estableixen un vincle entre la contemporaneïtat i la mística associada a Joan Miró, explorant gestos quotidians, objectes trobats a l’atzar i eines emprades en els treballs agrícoles. Alhora, les fotografies evidencien l’agressió sobre la terra, especialment per la proximitat d’un complex petroquímic i l’impacte que aquest exerceix sobre l’entorn.

Can Coriol esdevé així el testimoni de la desintegració del Baix Camp, afectat per fenòmens com el vent, la pluja i les grans infraestructures. En conjunt, la mostra d’Oriol Enguany ofereix una mirada íntima sobre la transformació d’aquest paisatge i la seva connexió amb la història, la família i la realitat contemporània.

The exhibition focuses on Can Coriol, the property of painter Oriol Enguany’s parents, located near Constantí. Originally used as a weekend retreat, the house has gradually become the parents’ main residence. The selection of photographs emphasizes the self-built nature of the house, undertaken by Oriol’s father, a former bricklayer, truck driver and mechanic. The images highlight details of small repairs carried out with readily available materials, demonstrating ingenuity and skill.

The aesthetic of Can Coriol, described by Oriol as punk, reflects his father’s free-spirited attitude and lack of artistic pretension. The photographs establish a dialogue between contemporaneity and the mysticism associated with Joan Miró, exploring everyday gestures, found objects and tools used in agricultural work. At the same time, the images reveal the aggression inflicted upon the land, particularly due to the proximity of a petrochemical complex and its impact on the surrounding environment.

Can Coriol thus becomes a testimony to the disintegration of the Baix Camp, affected by phenomena such as wind, rain and large-scale infrastructures. Overall, Oriol Enguany’s exhibition offers an intimate perspective on the transformation of this landscape and its connection to history, family and contemporary reality.

L’any 2019, em vaig embarcar en una travessa a peu des de @cancoriol a Constantí fins al Coagularium coagularium , l’espai d’en Marc O’Callaghan @marcocallaghan a Barcelona, en el marc de l’exposició “Fitadepedra 1”. Al llarg d’aquell camí, un barret de palla guarnit amb un petit sigil fet de filferro i plantes, un símbol d’amor-anarquia creat pel meu amic Dani Cardevore @bella_xocolatuina em va acompanyar com un amulet.

Avui, el 2025, aquell barret encara és ben viu, ha passat a les mans del meu pare, i s’ha convertit en un fil que connecta el temps, la memòria i el nostre amor compartit per allò que altres en diuen “brossa”, però que nosaltres anomenem bellesa.

Aquest text és un petit homenatge a aquella travessa, a l’exposició Fitadepedra 1 i al sigil d’en Dani, que continua carregat de significat i ara segueix el seu viatge amb el meu pare.

In 2019, I set out on a journey on foot from @acncoriol in Constantí to Coagularium coagularium, Marc O’Callaghan’s space @marcocallaghan in Barcelona, as part of the exhibition “Fitadepedra 1.” Along the way, a straw hat adorned with a small sigil made of wire and plants a love-anarchy symbol created by my friend Dani Cardevore @bella_xocolatuina  accompanied me like an amulet.

Today, in 2025, that hat is still very much alive. It has passed into my father’s hands and has become a thread connecting time, memory, and our shared love for what others call “trash,” but what we call beauty.

This text is a small tribute to that walk, to the exhibition Fitadepedra 1, and to Dani’s sigil, still charged with meaning and now continuing its journey with my father.
